HISTORY: Since 1985, the Vincent James Band has been providing upscale entertainment at over one thousand weddings, corporate events and elegant affairs in the Delaware Valley’s most exclusive private facilities and country clubs. We are experienced in providing complete emcee services for your bridal party introductions, special dances and all other announcements and amenities.

INSTRUMENTATION: Because of several multi-instrumentalists, we feature a large variety of instruments that are chosen, and arranged for each song. Among these are, keyboards/synths, electric/acoustic guitars, tenor/alto/soprano saxophones, flute, clarinet, trumpet, flugelhorn, viola, harmonica, bass, drums, congas, and assorted percussion. This combined with seven lead vocalists, give us an unrivaled versatility.

MUSIC: The Delaware Valley’s best at motivating an audience to dance, we tailor our repertoire while performing to include as many of your guests as possible. Categories of music include: Big Band, Forties, Fifties, Sixties, Seventies, Motown, Classic Rock and Contemporary Music, all with an emphasis on dancing. Ethnic and specialty music can be performed at your request. VJB does not play novelty songs such as The Electric Slide, Macarena, YMCA et al, however the CD can be played at your request.

CEREMONY MUSIC: We are able to provide a variety of instrumentation and classical accompaniment, such as classical guitar, flute, violin, trumpet, keyboard, and vocalist in any combination.

COCKTAIL MUSIC: Selection of cocktail music ranges from solo piano and/or classical guitar or a combination of guitar, piano, saxophone, jazz duo, trio or quartet.

DISC JOCKEY: A Disc Jockey can be added as a compliment to the band at a very reasonable cost.

EQUIPMENT: Our equipment is state-of-the-art, but compact and will typically arrive approximately 1-2 hours prior to the arrival of your guests.

SONGLIST: The songlist is made up of a variety of proven dance songs that appeal to many age groups.Although it is not all inclusive, it is what the band feels comfortable performing at this time without having to read music, and possibly break the momentum of the dancing. The list contains many more songs than could be played at one event.

FIRST DANCE: We will make every effort to perform your first dance selection, provided we feel it can be tastefully done in a live performance, and are given at least eight weeks notice so that we have time to learn it.

PRICE: Rates are determined by the month, day of the week, and location. For more information, please contact our office.

BAND MEMBERS:VJB always performs with the same members at every showcase, and event. In an unlikely emergency, we assume sole responsibility for a replacement from our access to an extensive network of the area’s finest musicians. There is only one Vincent James Band. There are no “watered- down” versions of the band, like VJB II, III or IV etc.

CONTINUOUS MUSIC: Choose from either a DJ format, or live music.

INSURANCE: The Vincent James Band is fully insured. (Many facilities are requiring all vendors to carry their own liability insurance.)

ATTIRE: Black Tie for formal functions and weddings or less formal as appropriate.

SHOWCASES: Because we know the best way to choose a band is to see them in person, we perform a live showcase at least once a month where prospective clients can attend without cost or obligation.
